Farmhouse Decor Finds For Fall • Kath Eats

As the cooler weather progresses, my home decor becomes more cozy and rustic. From a leather throw pillow to fall wreaths and copper lanterns, these are some of my favorite farmhouse decor finds for fall.

Farmhouse Decor Finds for Fall

I love a neutral home with a similar palette from room to room.

And I also enjoy adding little accents that change the mood as the seasons change.

while I try No to run to Target and Pottery Barn to buy everything new, I love playing musical chairs with my home decor and moving things.

I bring out pastel cushions in spring and beachy decor (like my coral!) and pops of color in the summer months.

For the fall season, it’s all about making things as cozy as possible!

You most likely won’t find me going crazy over spooky Halloween decor inside the house, but I will certainly combine fall colors like plaids and earth tones to warm up our space from September through Thanksgiving (when we take out the make all things shine). Christmas).

When to decorate for fall?

Ultimately, the timing of fall decorating is a matter of personal taste. You can start in September or wait until the leaves begin to change color in your area. If you don’t celebrate specific holidays like Halloween or Thanksgiving, you can simply enjoy the beauty of fall by decorating in a way that reflects the natural colors and elements of the season.

While kids would love Halloween decorations on September 1st, I resist decorating for fall and Halloween until October 1st. Then our front porch can be decorated with as many fall pumpkins and spooky witches as Thomas and the Kids place.

While Halloween is fun for kids, I like more traditional fall decor, which is neutral, of course!

What defines the decoration of a country house?

When you Google “farmhouse decor,” you’ll see many of the following accents:

  • Rustic wood
  • Linen
  • Neutral + muted colors
  • Burlap
  • Lanterns
  • Baskets
  • Tartan
  • Vintage signs and accessories
  • Vegetation + plants
  • Ceramics
  • Galvanized accents
  • aged furniture
  • black metal
  • stairs
  • Natural light

Why I love country house decor

I’m drawn to farmhouse because the palette is generally neutral, but there is a lot of variety in textures. It makes me feel relaxed and calm.

I love including natural elements like grass, plants, burlap, and wood because they bring the outdoors inside.

While you will definitely find intricately decorated farmhouses, to me, the style is simple and minimalist.

Is the country house going out of style?

There have been rumors. I tend to agree with My 100 year old house that farmhouse elements will never go out of style because they tend to be simple, natural and neutral. Kind of like historic houses are always beautiful. While we may have gone for black casement windows, I think the core of our home looks simple and timeless.

And the farm signs (a la “Live Laugh Love”) are probably already removed 🙂

What’s in: Cottagecore

Apparently cabin It’s fashionable. Think cozy blankets, candles, folk and vintage details, tablecloths, wildflowers in vases, and painted canvases for wall art. Think more plants and less wood and iron.

If farmhouse decor is big and grand, cottagecore style is small and cozy. That’s all farm to me, so I guess I’m a fan of both!

White ceramic vases

These are very multi-purpose and can be placed in trio on coffee tables, side tables and shelves with some faux botanicals.

Linen napkins

Cloth napkins are a must-have for any formal occasion, like Thanksgiving dinner. My advice: take them straight out of the dryer and fold them right away while they are still warm so you don’t have to iron them! Or just roll them up with a pretty napkin ring.

Lighted Wire Pumpkins

We usually buy some real pumpkins for the porch, but these wire pumpkins from Pottery Barn are great because they last season after season.
