Friday Faves 10.20 – The Fitnessista

Hello friends! Happy Friday! How was the week? I hope you had a great time. What’s happening this weekend? We have an event for the girls’ school, Trunk or Treat, and we’re celebrating the Pilot’s birthday a little early (and yes, his favorite cake is on the menu). I’d love to know what you’re going through!

As for work, I’ve been doing a lot of functional testing for clients lately. As much as I love exercise programming, this is a close race for my favorite work-related task. I LOVE reviewing all the data and creating personalized action plans. I put on some binaural beats, I lay on the PEMF Go Mat (my code is FITNESSISTA15), and review EVERYTHING. If you are curious about functional testing as a 1:1 client, please let me know; I have three spots left as we wrap up 2023.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and from around the web. I also love hearing about your favorites, so shout out something you like in the comments section below!

(Photos from an art show we attended at the Boys and Girls Club. I received the sweetest greeting cards and a javelin painting for P’s room! The dress is here and P still loves her barefoot.)

Favorites from Friday 10.20

Read, watch, listen:

Five stimulants.

Why building muscle is more important than losing fat.

What little things in your house are just for you?

Fashion + beauty:

Shopbop sale is here! It’s a tiered sale, so the more you spend, the more you save. You can get up to 25% discount.

Here are some of my favorite picks:

This floral dress would look gorgeous with heels or booties.

this monkey (I have another Pistol jumpsuit in red and I love it)

These recycled leather pants – very cute for fall parties and holidays

These wide pants

These straight jeans

This nude slip dress

These bow earrings

I LOVE the cut of these ALC dresses (compare)

This black maxi

These dangle earrings

Fitness, health and good nutrition:

EquiLife has COFFEE! When they launched last week, he was very excited. Since learning how coffee is processed, particularly how it is decaffeinated, I have been quite strategic in my coffee choices. A few years ago I switched to decaf in the morning and when we bought our Nespresso I started drinking the organic pods because the taste of decaf is horrible.

I’m very excited to try something new that is free of pesticides and mold that can negate the positive health benefits of coffee.

Here’s what’s exciting about this one:

Provides more than twice the antioxidants found in blueberries.

Contains chlorogenic acids (CGA), a superior form of antioxidants.

Effective in eliminating free radicals and preventing cell damage

Increases brain function and supports healthy levels of inflammation.

Organic Single Origin Coffee

Pesticide and mold free

Whole bean, available in both regular (Revive) and decaffeinated (Relax) formats

You can get a free bag here with a $99 purchase! (I would do it a detox kit and a box of them chocolate brownie snack bars. You’ll have some delicious snacks and be ready for our community detox on January 8th! Also use code FITNESSISTA10 for 10% off.)

I LOVE Simple Mills Protein Pancake Mix. It’s very good and the edges are a little crispy.

They are especially amazing with berries on top and a side of chicken sausage.

Apple and cinnamon pie ice cream.

Interesting links between the seasons and metabolism.

You have to try this baked oatmeal with pumpkin.

Happy friday friends! Thank you very much for stopping by the blog today and see you soon!
