Sharp HealthCare To Build $900M Medical Tower On San Diego Campus

Nonprofit Regional Health Group Acute health care (San Diego) is planning a new medical tower on the Sharp HealthCare campus in San Diego’s Serra Mesa neighborhood, according to the website sandiegouniontribune.com.

The seven-story, 152-bed tower will replace the 1950s-era Sharp Memorial Hospital building, which has been in continuous use since its opening in 1955.

The project, part of a $900 million redevelopment plan for the metropolitan campus, recently received a $10 million donation from San Diego-area philanthropist Laurie McGrath. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The new medical building is scheduled to open in 2030.
