Friday Faves 2.2 – The Fitnessista

Hello friends! Happy Friday! How are you? I hope you had a wonderful week. It’s been a little wild here. I had to have my first mammogram after a potentially concerning spot appeared on my last ultrasound; It was NOT a picnic, but I am very grateful for the good results. Aaaand Liv broke her finger! We are headed to orthopedics today, but I expect she will have to be splinted for a while.

What do you have to do this weekend? We are headed to a military event and will do a family hike in between the festivities. The weather has been a DREAM this week, so we are taking advantage of it. I hope you too have a fun and lovely weekend ahead.

(I played hooky on Monday and went to the gem show with mother!)

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and from around the web. I always love hearing about your favorites too, so shout out something you like in the comments section below.

Friday Favorites 2.2

Random/life:

Second ear piercing! Liv has been wanting to get her second piercing for a while, so we told her she could do it. We grabbed one of her friends to join us (for moral support) and headed to Rowan, the new piercing place in La Encantada. All earrings are hypoallergenic and all piercers are registered nurses. It was very cute and Instagrammable.

Liv asked me if I would go first, so I said yolo and got the second piercing. (I originally made them in elementary school, but I let them close.)

It didn’t hurt at all. I was surprised!!

Our “afters”:

I can’t believe how much I like having a second piercing. It’s fun to have a little extra sparkle.

Last night we went to the Wildcats game as a family and it was great. Liv has a heavy dance schedule, so we haven’t attended any games this season. We let her undo one night (after all, she had recently broken her finger) and we were so happy, we ate all the meals in the game and enjoyed the night together.

This label maker. I know, it’s a weird thing to be excited about. But I bought this on Prime Day and I LOVE this little thing. It has been helpful for labeling items in the pantry and also for hanging dance competition costumes! Check it here.

Meg’s baby shower! We have to celebrate this mom and my new baby nephew on the way. We had snacks at Commoner & Co., played games, ate cake, and watched her open all the amazing gifts. I can’t believe how much better baby clothes are now!! The fabrics have received a major upgrade and are incredibly soft.

These coasters for teachers! I asked the girls’ teachers to appreciate them and paired them with a Starbucks gift card. I LOVE how they unplugged!

A parenting goal for adolescence.

Fashion + beauty:

New lip balms! The texture is soft like silk and they give a touch of lighter color. I try to use non-toxic makeup and skincare as much as possible, but lip products are especially important since you’re essentially *eating* what’s on your lips. Check it here and you can use CLEAFORALL20 to get 20% off your first order. I’m also happy to help with any recipes!

This skirt. It was in my recent shipment of RTR Unlimited and I’m thinking about keeping it. Skirts don’t usually fit me (I have a short torso and they are often too tight around the waist) and this fits well and goes with many blouses and sweaters.

(I use it with these loafers or these Amazon flats!)

Fitness, health and good nutrition:

Barbell strength training with dumbbells.

Simple but Delicious Air Fryer Chicken. (PS, I’m willing to upgrade our fryer to one that doesn’t have non-stick coating. If you have a stainless steel or glass one that you love, please lmk!)

Chocolate and caramel truffles. Hmm

Happy friday friends! What is something you love this week?
