Children’s Health, UT Southwestern Medical Center To Partner On $5B Pediatric Campus In Dallas

Child’s Health (Dallas) and UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas announced plans to build a $5 billion pediatric health campus on the UT Southwestern campus.

Situated on 33 acres, the project will include a 2 million-square-foot hospital with two 12-story towers and an eight-story tower to replace the existing one. Dallas Children’s Medical Center. The hospital will house 552 beds with room for expansion, a Level I pediatric trauma center, 90 emergency department (ED) exam rooms, 24 observation rooms and two helipads.

A connecting bridge between the campus and William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital is also planned.

In addition to providing clinical care, the new pediatric campus will serve as a center for innovation, academic research, technology development and training in gene therapy, neuromuscular diseases, metabolic disorders, congenital heart disease research, rare disease treatment, oncology and solid organs. transplants and neonatology.

The campus is expected to open in the next 6 to 7 years.
