July Things! • Kath Eats

Here’s a recap of our long 4th of July weekend and other fun events before and after!

July 4th Recap

We had a wonderful 4th of July! The day started with a workout in the ACAC parking lot. Of course, there was plenty of red, white, and blue.

Fabi took this photo of Thomas and me halfway up. We chose the last row because of the shade.

Well done, team!

Pool time

Fry’s Spring Pool is always a hit on the 4th of July! Yes, it’s crowded, but it’s so much fun – there’s a float contest, a giant whirlpool, a flip contest, and a pie-making contest.

Time to eat

Bellair sandwiches are always a good idea 🙂

Rainy weather

Boooooooo!

Cake time

But it all worked out because I was there to judge a pie competition. I got the citrus and custard category, and boy was it a fun job!

Party time

We left the pool mid-afternoon and headed home to shower before heading to our friend Spencer’s house for an evening party.

I baked these oatmeal date bars that I had at KK’s house. They are so good! I hope to turn them into a recipe for the blog and share them.

Childhood

The boys have had a blast this summer. Swimming, jumping on the trampoline with the hose, going to camp, eating ice cream. Mazen even learned how to make pancakes!

Date night

Thomas and I went to Bebedero for a date night that ended at Chaps for birthday cake ice cream. ‘Tis the season!

ACAC Crew Events

What starts at 8:30am with sweat, ends in the pool to cool off! Katie welcomed us at her parents’ pool for the day.

Through the looking glass

I was finally able to visit the immersive art space in Mirror in IX park! It was great.

Spooky trees –

The power of salad

The power of salad They sent me some of their salad smoothies to try. They are so fun because they are like the little toddler pouches that Birch still eats from time to time! They were definitely on to something. vegetarian On the other side of the spectrum, I tried mostly carrots. Here I am eating one after a late-night soccer game, when I needed some vegetables but was too tired to cook anything:

These are a great option when you’re really busy because they are SO CONVENIENT! I had another one after football when I was running to a Broadway show with Sean and Birch! You can tell by the look on his face that Sean didn’t like it. I’d say the HLB health fanatic community will like them, but they may be too “pure” for the average person (sorry Sean haha). He eventually finished it, but only after my peer pressure called it a “pouchie” and got Birch to tell him it wasn’t that bad.

New sunglasses!

Check out some of the new styles of Kohv glassesMy favorite sunglasses brand! They sent me some new styles and they are so cool. Use code KATHEATS15 for 15% off!
