From August 28 to September 8, the Paralympic Games YouTube Channel will offer the most comprehensive coverage of the Paralympic Games to date, including live action, replays, highlights, creator content, athlete features and more. The content will be available free to users in 175 markets and territories around the world.

Main Summary

The public can expect:

  • Live Coverage: Nearly 1,400 hours of live coverage of all 22 Paralympic sports will be available, including the opening and closing ceremonies.
  • Multiview: For the first time, YouTube is introducing Multiview globally, allowing viewers to watch up to four streams of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games simultaneously. Multiview has previously been used for events including the NFL and Coachella, as well as in select regions during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
  • Clips and highlights: Every day of the Games, clips from every race, competition and match – more than 1,200 in total – will be posted on the Paralympic Games YouTube channel so audiences can follow the action whenever they want. These clips will be shown to users on the search page under ‘Official Cards’, enabling seamless discovery of Paralympic Games content.
  • YouTube Shorts: During the Games, the IPC will also produce nearly 400 YouTube Shorts focusing on major sporting moments and up to 40 feature-length athlete films.
  • Rising Phoenix: Road to Tokyo: A three-part series following 12 elite Paralympic athletes from 11 countries as they prepare to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The next installment in the Rising Phoenix “Universe,” created by Emmy Award-winning filmmakers Harder Than You Think.

  • Paris 2024 Paralympic Sports Explained: 90-second animated guides to each of the 22 Paralympic sports, produced in collaboration with Allianz.
  • Creating Champions: 22 of the world’s best Para athletes tell us about their preparations for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
  • Game Changers: 22 short films featuring Paralympic athletes who have made a huge difference in their sport.
  • #ChangeStartsWithSport – A series of 22 films in which Paralympic athletes explain the transformative impact that Paralympic sport has had on their lives.
  • Ones to Watch: 22 short films highlighting star athletes in each of the sports that will be featured at the upcoming Paralympic Games.

Many broadcast rights holders for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are looking to use YouTube to enhance their coverage of the event, with many looking to stream every minute of all the sporting action. YouTube has been the global digital home for sporting moments, big and small. More than 35 billion hours of sporting content are consumed annually on YouTube.
