5 online barre classes you must try

I’m sharing 5 online barre classes you should try that are a fun component to add to your workout routine.

Hi friends, how are you? I hope you are enjoying the week. I will be meeting with some friends, having meetings with clients and taking a yoga class.

Today I wanted to talk about a training format that has stood the test of time. It’s something I’ve loved for many years and I always use it as a staple of my routine:

bar!

I LOVE barre workouts because they remind me a bit of my old dancing days – they’re incredibly challenging, but easier on the joints. The impact is minimal, and I feel like no matter what, I always get a good workout. There are so many great online barre options out there, so I wanted to share five of my five favorites if you’re looking to take some barre classes at home instead of in the studio. This is a great option for my perimenopausal or menopausal friends who are used to HIIT workouts, but want something that’s low-impact and still a great workout.

5 Online Barre Classes You Should Try

Pure bar

Pure bar Classes are designed to work specific muscle groups using small, isometric movements. By isolating and working these muscles to the point of fatigue, you can achieve a long, lean physique while improving your flexibility, posture, and overall body alignment. It’s a fun and challenging full-body workout.

One of the things I love most about Pure Barre is its inclusive nature. Whether you’re a seasoned fitness enthusiast or a beginner, Pure Barre offers modifications and variations to suit you where you are in your fitness journey. The supportive and encouraging environment makes it a welcoming space for all fitness levels and ages.

Why I love Pure Barre:

I feel like these classes are more music-driven and feel like the most *classic* barre workouts to me. They include a mix of pulses, isometric holds, and full-range movements, plus belly fat-burning exercises, juicy stretches, and challenging sets. With a variety of class formats, including Classic, Empower, and Reform, you can mix it up and keep your workouts fresh and exciting.

Prices: Starting at $9.99 per month (annual billing; $29.99 monthly billing) and you’ll also get access to different formats including Club Pilates and Yoga Six.

Bar3 It’s about finding balance in all aspects of your life. With a focus on functional movements, workouts aim to improve strength, flexibility and stability, whilst also supporting your mental wellbeing. It’s not just about the physical aspect; it’s about connecting with your body and taking a mindful approach to fitness.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete, Barre3 will challenge you while respecting your unique needs and abilities.

Barre3 classes are a combination of isometric exercises, functional movements, and dynamic stretches. The use of props such as sliders, weights, and balls adds variety and intensity to workouts, keeping you engaged and constantly challenged.

Why I like Bare3:

I love the mindfulness aspect of Barre3. There is a lot of emphasis on the mind-body connection, as each class begins and ends with a series of breaths.

Prices: 14 day trial. $19.99/month billed annually and $29.99/month billed monthly.

Sculpture society

Well, to be fair, this isn’t a traditional barre class, but the strength and shaping exercises are very similar to those of a barre. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you like barre classes!

Sculpt Society was created by celebrity trainer Megan Roup, and this dynamic fitness method combines dance cardio, sculpting exercises, and targeted workouts to help you achieve your fitness goals and unleash your inner confidence. Sculpt Society is all about finding joy in movement and embracing your body’s natural rhythm. Through high-energy dance cardio routines, you’ll get your heart rate up, burn calories, and improve your cardiovascular fitness. But it’s not just about cardio – Sculpt Society takes it a step further with light weight sculpting exercises that target and tone specific muscle groups, helping you improve overall strength and endurance.

Sculpt Society incorporates a variety of exercises and equipment to make your workouts exciting and effective. From resistance bands and hand weights to sliders and ankle weights, you’ll experience a wide range of movements that challenge your muscles in new ways. Workouts are designed to activate your entire body, helping you build strength, improve flexibility, and enhance your overall athletic ability.

Why I love Sculpt Society:

I really like Megan Roup’s workout design and vibe. She’s motivating and fun, but she doesn’t try too hard to make you laugh. She doesn’t have any silly lines and she seems like a real person. It’s so refreshing in a world of over-the-top fitness instructors and the classes are really well done. I have fun, I sweat, and I feel challenged.

Pricing: They offer a free trial. You can get a free month with my referral link here. After that, it costs $179.99 per year or $19.99 (what I currently pay for my subscription).

Coach Kel’s Workouts

I found it Coach Kel came onto YouTube years ago and I love her workouts. They are a bit more dancer-like, which I love, and I also like her low-key approach to training. She has a ton of workouts on her channel and the best part is that they are free. She is a really great barre instructor. I wish I could add more information here, but I had a hard time finding more information about Coach Kel and her experience, even though she is active on social media. The good news is that you can check out her workouts for free and see if you like them!

Price: Free! It also has a On-demand platform that you can consult here for $19.99/month.

Beautiful ballet

I remember the moment I was able to attend an in-person class! I was amazed at the uniqueness and effectiveness of this format. All you need is a yoga mat to get started.

Here’s a little more about Beautiful Ballet:

Ballet Beautiful, created by professional dancer and celebrity fitness trainer Mary Helen Bowers, is inspired by the graceful movements and techniques of ballet, incorporating elements of ballet conditioning, Pilates, and yoga. Through a series of precise, controlled movements, you’ll engage your muscles, improve your posture, and build muscle strength and endurance. You don’t need to have any prior dance experience to enjoy the benefits of these exercises. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced fitness enthusiast, Ballet Beautiful offers a variety of exercises and modifications to suit your fitness level at any point.

Price: $39.99 for 1 month or $90 for 90 days
